Barbara Lane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen Funeral Home - Davison on Feb. 27, 2026.
LANE, Barbara Cora-Ann – of Flint, Michigan, age 82, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held 1 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan 48423. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 11 AM until the time of service.

Barbara was born in Flint, Michigan on April 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Cyrus and Dorothy (Russell) Stearns. A lifelong hard worker, she retired from General Motors after 30 years of dedicated service. Selfless and generous, Barbara was a devoted and wonderful mother. She proudly raised her three sons on her own, supporting them in all they pursued. She was especially known as a dedicated "hockey mom," faithfully attending games and cheering them on through the years. Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved collecting, watching, and all things cardinals. She also enjoyed traveling, trying her luck at the casinos, golfing, and spending time with her family. Evenings frequently included watching her favorite game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, which she rarely missed. She was an excellent cook and baker, and her kitchen was often the heart of the home. Her strength, love, and unwavering support were the foundation of her family.

Barbara is survived by her loving sons, Jason Lane and Steven Lane; grandchildren: Hailey, Mikala, Emillee, Jackie, Eric, Ryan, Andrea, Stevie, and Stephanie; many great grandchildren; siblings: Glenda Kay Church and Kenneth Stearns; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by son, Michael Lane; significant other, Lynwood James; brother, Gene Stearns; and daughter-in-law, Ranada Lane, and her beloved dog, Ceasar.
