Barbara Linda "Bobbi" Layer, 76, of Frederick transitioned this life peacefully at Northwest Hospice on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born June 30, 1949, she was the daughter of Samuel G. and Dorothy V. Layer.

Barbara Linda graduated from Frederick High School in 1968. She retired from Litton Bionetics at Fort Detrick. She was a member of Buckeystown United Methodist Church. Bobbi was also a member of the Golden Girls club and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She leaves to cherish her memory her: brothers, Samuel "Sampete" Layer and William "Sonnyboy" Layer (Jessie); sisters, Dorothy "Bubu" Jah (Thaddeus) and Chantal Henderson; goddaughters, Toni Dorsey (Marty), Chyrell Griffith, Tamico Keene (Damon), India Keene, and Dashanti Dorsey; nieces, Dawn, April, Kawonia, Trisma, and Samantha; nephews, Junior, Steven, Kim, Travis, and Douglas; devoted friends, Helen Hall and Dinah Layer; and a host of great nieces and nephews, dear cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her: son, LaMonte J. Oram; sister, Shirley Layer; maternal grandparents, Lindsay and Margaret Ambush; and paternal grandparents, George and Ada Layer.
