Barbara L. McMillan, age 81, of Holt, Michigan died peacefully on Saturday, February 07, 2026, after battling Dementia and Alzheimer's. She was born in Hastings, Michigan in 1944 to Captain Ralph and Leone Herrick. Barb was proud to be an "army brat" and lived in several states and also in Frankfort, Germany. While in high school in Germany, she met Elvis Presley and got a tour of his off-base apartment. She graduated from Clover Park High School in 1962 in the State of Washington. She returned to Michigan and attended Ferris Institute while her father was stationed in Korea. Upon his return in 1963, the family relocated to the Presidio in San Francisco, California, where Barb completed her training as a dental assistant from a trade school.

She became engaged in December 1963 and married Michael J. McMillan in Hastings, Michigan in June 1964.She worked in Hastings for a local dentist until moving to East Lansing, Michigan in 1966 where Michael attended MSU. She was a homemaker for many years, volunteered in her daughters' classrooms, Girl Scouts and church activities. Barb then worked in retail and moved on to clerical work and records at Lansing Pediatrics Associates. She retired from there in 2009.

Barb was proceeded in death by her parents Major Ralph and Leone Herrick, an unnamed baby brother, son-in-law John Sterling, sister-in-law Carol Buchanan, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband Michael, daughters Jennifer Sterling, Karen (Jeremy) Ott, sister Martha Rohrs, five grandchildren (Spencer Sterling, Jessica Sterling, Maxwell Sterling, Jenna (Josh) Hartley, and Mason Croley), three great granddaughters (Sadie Croley, Eleanor Hartley and Josephine Hartley), sister-in-law Janice K. Burghdoff, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Barb and Mike loved to travel via cruising and traveled the world visiting every continent and over 83 countries. Barb enjoyed canoeing, camping, dancing, playing cards, and going to out-door concerts. She also enjoyed her "girlfriends time". Barb was a woman of faith, believed in the power of prayer and loved

her family dearly.

A visitation will be held between 5-8 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Palmer, Bush &Jensen Funeral Home, Holt Delhi Chapel. Services will be held at the Holt United Methodist Church at 11 am on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Hastings, Michigan
