Barbara (Meckley) O'Dell

Barbara (Meckley) O'Dell, age 66 of Crossville, formerly of Hanover PA, transitioned peacefully from her Earthly existence into her Heavenly one on Tuesday, November 25th with family by her side.

She was born on August 31st, 1959 in Hanover PA to the late Sterling and Nancy (Waugh) Meckley. Throughout her life she emanated dedication, unmatchable work ethic, and determination. However, the qualities that shone the brightest and were felt the deepest were here love, strength, courage, and compassion. She thoroughly enjoyed travelling with her family when she was able, cooking, caring for others, spending time with family, and was a treat giver extraordinaire to all of her 4-legged friends and family. An ideal day for her would be shopping with her daughter, coming home to laugh and porch sit with her husband, texting with her sisters, and finishing the night with cats in her lap and a dog by her side.

She's already deeply missed by her loving husband Rick, devoted daughter Cara O'Dell (John King), step-daughter Brandy O'Dell (Todd Siney) of CA, her supportive sisters, Donna Fisher of FL, Connie Meckley of PA, Cheryl (James) Davis of PA, and her sweet sister-in-law Cindy (Ralph) Lashley also of PA. She also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, friends, and her furry companions Cammie, Ziggy, Smokey, and Rip.

Those waiting for her on the other side include her parents, mother and father-in-law Charles and Gertie O'Dell, brother-in-law Sam Fisher, and all of the pets who have had a special place in her heart.

Per her wishes there will be no services held at this time, a private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barb's honor to your favorite animal organization. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, thoughts, and prayers throughout her courageous journey.
