Barbara Nell Meriwether

Barbara Nell Meriwether, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away on November 06, 2025 at the age of 79. She was born in Henderson, Texas on July 22, 1946.

Barbara had a generous heart, along with an exceptional gift for nurturing, deep, lasting relationships with those in her life that she loved. She instilled her strong values and religious beliefs in her family, and always let others know of her love and dedication to the Lord. Barbara is also best known for her witty personality, as she enjoyed making others laugh and smile. She was truly the "life of the party." Barbara loved spending time with her family and watching the Texas Rangers. She had always loved sports and specifically loved cheering on her granddaughters throughout their athletic careers. Barbara was a dedicated Mimi; she supported her granddaughters from ballet recitals to their college graduations. Barbara also loved listening to music and dancing and singing to said music. She had a green thumb, loved doing DIY projects, and decorating her home.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her father, Hubert L. Parks, her mother, Mary Lockey Parks, and her sister, Katherine Crawford, and brother-in-law, Joe Crawford.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Tripp, granddaughter, Brooke Niederhaus, granddaughter, Reagan Niederhaus, sister, Gloria Parks, sister, Marian Greeney, and brother-in-law, Glen Greeney.

A graveside funeral service will be held at the New Energy Cemetery in Belott, Texas on Wednesday, November 19 at 1:00 pm.
