Barbara Ann Mittlestadt-Winter, age 87, passed away on August 27, 2025. She was born July 4, 1938, in Appleton Wisconsin to Joseph and Vera Boettcher. Barb lived most of her life in the Fox Valley, mostly in Appleton and more recently in Neenah-Menasha.
Barb paved her own path, often going against the odds. She was an optimist with a heart of gold, closely identifying with Don Quixote, swinging at windmills while attempting to make a good life for herself, her beloved pets, and her daughter, Linda. Rules and societal expectations often got in her way, but she never lost hope that a better world was within reach.
Rest in Peace Viking, you deserve it.
