BARBARA ANN MORRISON
Barbara Ann Morrison was born on January 19, 1941 in
Sherman, Texas. She was the daughter of Willie Mae Smith and Herbert Smith. She was married to Donald Morrison for 52 years where they raised two children, Gary Morrison and Michelle Chapman.
Barbara lived a life with a servant's heart. She lived her life with kindness, unwavering faith, and although she was so tiny, she had the strength and perseverance of a giant. To her family she was an angel chosen for us. She was a devoted Mom . Barbara did not just "Mother" our Mama was our best friend. She made life fun, happy, and was on board for any crazy adventure we would talk her into.
Becoming a (Nanny B and Nanna) was her greatest joy. Barbara was a guiding light to her Grandchildren: Shelby Baio, Justin Morrison, Hayden Phelps, Chesny Chapman, and Landon Chapman. Nanny B "to some and "Nanna" to others, she never missed an event or phone call no matter the need or the time, she was always available. Just as she was a best friend to her children, she also was a best friend to her grandchildren. She was up for anything they wanted to do from riding shotgun in a go kart around a dirt track, dressing up baby dolls, having tea parties, and picnics in the pasture, to being excited about the latest hunting trophies of her grandsons, and being their biggest fan at every ball game. She did it all. She welcomed with open arms Shelby's husband Luke, Justin's wife Claire, Hayden's wife Sierra, and Chesny's boyfriend Paul, and Landon's wife Taylor. They instantly became her grandchildren as well.
She made life joyful with her fun-loving and witty personality. Her love, patience, and giving spirit were evident to everyone all the time. She put herself last and did not once complain about that.
Barbara had a gift of making everyone feel special and important. Whether by her joyful smile. amazing banana pudding, or wise words, she touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She found joy in doing for others no matter the task. She loved music and old Hymns. She loved riding side by sides down back roads just singing and listening to music, even though sometimes smiling and holding on for dear life when riding with Gary, but just like everything, she was open to all of it.
Barbara also was blessed to have 5 great grandchildren: Evan, Carolyne, and Grace Baio, Boone Morrison, and Dean Chapman. These babies had the privilege of the unconditional love of a great grandmother. She recently also added two precious Bengal Kitties, Coby and Toby that kept her laughing daily. Her heart had so much love to give and she gave it unconditionally .
To know her was to love her. She gave so much love, patience, kindness, and joy to all of her family, but her greatest gift to her children was making sure we knew Jesus and modeling daily what living a life for Jesus looked like. This will always be her legacy.
Barbara is survived by her sister Bula Harris, sister in law Nancy Smith, Her son, Gary Morrison and Girlfriend Sherrie who was also mom's dearest friend and caregiver, daughter Michelle Chapman and husband Brian , grandchildren : Shelby Baio and husband Luke, Hayden Phelps and wife Sierra, Justin and Claire Morrison, Chesny Chapman and boyfriend Paul, Landon Chapman and wife Taylor, and her great grandchildren: Evan, Carolyne, and Grace Baio, Boone Morrison, and Dean Chapman.
