Barbara Jean Norfleet
Barbara Jean Norfleet was born in South Carolina on July 23, 1946, to her late parents Frank and Earther Prophet. Barbara was the 11th out of 12 children. Early in Barbara’s life, the family moved to Washington, D.C., where Barbara attended Dunbar Senior High School, graduating in 1966.
Soon thereafter, Barbara worked for the government at Walter Reed as a Lab Technician for AFIP.
While employed at Walter Reed, Barbara met her husband James Norfleet, where they would later marry on May 30, 1980. Barbara and James have two sons, David Jamal Dalton and Simeon Norfleet and a Grandson David Jamal, Jr.
Barbara enjoyed many shows, such as Monk, crime and spiritual shows as well. She also enjoyed talking to her to David Jamal and Simeon. They always gave her a great laugh. Barbara also dedicated her Sundays to attend Walter Reed Chapel.
On November 6, 2025, the Lord called home, Barbara Jean Norfleet. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 10 siblings. Barbara is survived by her sons, David Jamal Dalton and Simeon Norfleet (Shanita Norfleet), 1 grandson, David Jamal “DJ” Dalton, 1 sister, Laura prophet-Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
