Barbara Ouellette Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Weber-Hill & Packard Funeral Home - Crandon on Feb. 24, 2025.
Barbara Irene Ouellette of Townsend, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on February 21, 2025. She was 80 years old.
She was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, to the late Nicholas and Irene (Twohig) Abler on April 7, 1944. She graduated from St. Mary Springs Academy High School in 1961.
As a child, she vacationed to the family's cottage on Bass Lake near Townsend. While visiting, she and her family would shop at Pintsch's hardware store where she met her future husband, Joe Ouellette, where he worked in the summer stocking shelves. Joe was drafted into the Military in 1962 and while he was stationed in France, Barb and Joe would send letters back and forth. Following Joe's discharge from the Military, the couple were married. The newlyweds lived in West Allis for several years before moving north to Townsend where Joe was originally from. She learned to drive after they were married, with Joe being her instructor. They resided there for 53 years until her passing.
Barb worked over 20 years in the banking industry. Following her retirement, she and Joe wintered in Tombstone, Arizona for 20+ years where she was also an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. Barb enjoyed reading books and magazines, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and Joe. She also liked to take trips with her daughter, Christine, to visit family and friends. Barb enjoyed going with Christine to get pedicures and spend time together as mother and daughter- these times she truly cherished. Barb was one of the kindest hearted people you could meet.
In addition to her husband Joe, Barb is survived by her children, Christine (Dennis) Slagowski, Craig (Wendy) Ouellette, grandchildren, Jesse (Amanda) Tokarczyk, Justin (Ericka) Tokarczyk, Joshua (Amanda Engel) Tokarczyk, Amy (Dan) Witman, Andy (Kalen) Ouellette, great grandchildren, Rylen, Raiden, Joscelin, Brynlee, Kaylee, Brandi, Jayceion, Mia, Jamecion, Niyah Tokarczyk, Reese Matuszewski, Finley, Remy and Poppy Witman, sisters, Judy (Tom) Michels, Mary (Ronnie) Schaefer and Esther Mand.
Barbara is preceded in death by a great grandson, Kolton Ouellette, sister, Kay Abler, parents, and brother-in-law, Fritz Mand and nephew Brian Michels.
A celebration of life will be held on April 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Townsend Town Hall (16564 Elm St., Townsend, WI 54175)
