Barbara Ann Parish

Barbara Ann Parish went home to Jesus on March 27, 2026 at age 94.

Barbara was born to Bennie Mae Peterson and Charles Edward Coburger on December 22, 1931, in Pensacola, FL. As a child, she played softball and worked part time at the Florida Theater.

Barbara met her husband, James A. Parish, Sr., when a friend of her mother introduced them. They married in 1951 and went on to have five children, James A. Parish, Jr.; Laura Truesdell; Linda Harper; Charles Parish; and Angela Johnson.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Barbara also loved reading, playing card games with friends and family, and bird watching. She also served as church Secretary at Ensley Memorial Baptist Church for several years. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Barbara joins her parents, Bennie Mae and Charles; her sister, Lorine; her husband, James; her son, James Jr.; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Cathy Parish; and her grandson, Mathew Johnson in Heaven.

She is survived by her four daughters: Laura (Dexter) Truesdell, Linda Harper, Angela (Rusty) Johnson, and Mary Curtis; her grandchildren Sandra (Scott) Pruitt McLaughlin, Christina (John) Garner, Heather (Steven) Parish Park, Sheamus (Crystal) A. Parish III, Carrie Truesdell, Kristy (Kenneth) Ralph, Travis Truesdell, Nathan Truesdell, Christgen (Nic) Ranze; and her greatgrandchildren: Trista, Mariah, Ryan, Cody, Gregory, Garrett, Kaylen, Ethan, Hanna, Bella Grace, Trew, Jackson, Kasey, Joliana, Jeremiah, Joseph, Josie, Jackie, and AJ.

Please join us in a celebration of life for Barbara, to be held Friday, April 3rd, 2026. Guests are encouraged to wear either floral prints or clothes in Barbara's favorite colors of red or purple.
