Barbara Ann "Ruby" Pendarvis

Barbara Ann Pendarvis, 88, of Marietta, GA, aka Ruby, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 14, 1937, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. When Barbara was only 5 years old, she was in the newspaper for dragging a little red wagon named Radio Flyer full of scrap metal for the war in 1942. In her senior year of high school, she won a beauty contest and also won first place for decorating a truck with pink, yellow, and white tissue flowers for a parade. Her first job was at Wilson's 5 and 10-cent store in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Afterwards, she worked for Monfort Drug Store on the same square. Barbara's life consisted of shopping sprees and hard work at Grady Hospital. During her time working for Grady, she specialized in radiology and nursing for 35 years. She married the love of life, William Frank Pendarvis II, on August 30th, 1959. Barbara had two sons, William Frank Pendarvis III and Christopher Pendarvis, whom she loved deeply. She was a lifelong member of the Marietta Depression Glass Club and Red Hat Society. Barbara is survived by her sons, William Frank Pendarvis III and Christopher Pendarvis; granddaughters Ashley Pendarvis, Katie Pendarvis, Lynda Pendarvis, Gracie Day, Rachel Pendarvis, Charlotte Pendarvis, and Wendy Pendarvis; sisters Virginia Cooper and Anna Reidling. A Graveside Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Barbara Ann "Ruby" Pendarvis will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:30AM at Old Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville, GA.
