Barbara Lazella Persall

Barbara Lazella Tilley was born to Maedel Crider Hale Tilley and Thomas Corby Tilley on January 28, 1930 and she went home to glory on December 5, 2025. Barbara was one of 7 sisters: Icie Wallace, Chiquita McBrayer, Eulene Wallace, Onnavee Parker, Billie Sue Persall, and Frances Ann Pierce. Billie Sue and Fran remain with us. Barbara married Roland Eugene Persall on June 13, 1947. Together they had 5 children: Roger (JoAnn), Anita Smith (Jack), Delila Williams (Larry), Mark (Jennifer), and Nick (Laure). We said goodbye to Delila in 2018. Barbara and Roland also had 9 grandchildren: Ron Persall, Denny Smith (Sarah), Bret Smith (Ryan), Alan Smith (Jeanie), Chad Smith (LaDonna), Matthew Williams (Amanda), Lela Williams, Kayti Persall Murphree (Patrick), Luke Persall, Rachel Persall Whittemore (Clay), and Grant Persall. We said goodbye to Ron in 1987. There are 17 delightful great grandchildren as well and we were everyone blessed by our beloved matriarch.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, December 8th, 2025 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Chances Crossroads Cemetery, Minister Jack Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 - 1 p.m.
