Barbara Ann Prater, 83, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 14, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford.
March 14, 1942, Barbara was a woman of unwavering faith and deep devotion to her family. Known for her strong will, boundless generosity, and deep commitment to sharing the Word of God, Barbara lived a life marked by selflessness and service. Her laughter could fill a room, her hugs brought comfort to all, and she had a gift for making everyone feel like they held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal and Ida Faye Sims; her brother, John Sims; her husband, Royce Prater; and her son, Scott Prater.
Barbara is survived by her children: Beverly Morrison, Lawrence and Patricia Prater; daughter-in-law, Carma Prater; her grandchildren: Krystle, Stephen, Bryan, Zack, Tobi, Logan, and Dalton; and nine beloved great-grandchildren.
Barbara's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through the many lives she touched.
