Barbara Ann Rex

Barbara A. Rex, 85, passed away June 23, 2024. Born on October 16, 1938 in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret May Smith Gelet. Barbara was a longtime resident of Eagleville.
Barbara worked as a chief clerk/bookkeeper at Montgomery County Medical Society from January 6, 1970 to October 31, 2000, when she retired. Some of her many duties were dealing with correspondence, providing physician referrals, providing administrative services to the Montgomery County Medical Society Alliance, managing the financial arrangement for the Nursing Student Loan and Medical Student Loan Programs and balancing checking and savings accounts for the Foundation, Pyfer Fund, MoPAC and Society. She also worked for Shoprite part time stocking shelves and bartending at various establishments.
Barbara loved cooking and baking and was known for her Thursday night spaghetti dinners which were enjoyed by her grandsons. She had a small garden every year and had many flower plants in her yard. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Skippie chicks Bocce team in Skippack, PA.
She is survived by her daughter Renee (Dan) Bartlett of Collegeville; her brother Joseph (Patti) of Collegeville, and her sister Sandra Gelet-Kulchyzky of Spring City. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends starting 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, with the Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
