Barbara Jo Ross

Barbara Jo Ross, 77, of Fife Lake, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was born on November 25, 1947, in Flint, to the late Ernest and Hazel (Batten) Ellis. Barb had moved to Fife Lake over 50 years ago and has loved all that northern Michigan has to offer. Family was everything to Barb, she has been the matriarch for her family whom she cared about so deeply. Although she could be a bit feisty at times, her selfless heart always shined. When she wasn't outside tending to her flowers, she could either be found at the Casino or watching the Hallmark Channel. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a very enthusiastic great grandmother. Barb is survived by her daughter Kimberly Ross; grandchildren: Christopher Ross, Nickolas Storm, Timothy Ingersoll Jr., and Faith Fields; great grandchildren: Hendrix Ross, Alayna Ingersoll, Cole Ingersoll, Winston Fields, and Adeline Fields; her siblings: Linda Benton, Roger Ellis, and Jerry Ellis. She was preceded in death by her son William "Billy" Ross, husband Maurice Cole, brother Rodney Ellis, and sister Carol Harwood. Visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Kalkaska Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1pm following visitation in the Chapel of Kalkaska Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Boardman Township Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home.
