Mom was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. I loved taking her to games, and we were lucky enough to experience Stanley Cup Final games two years in a row. I will never forget her big smile and the excitement in her voice as she cheered for the Pens.
Mom always had something sweet at the house to offer her kids and grandkids. Even during our last visit she had ice cream, chocolate sauce, and cherries to sugar up the grandkids. One weekend, years ago, we baked pies together and she showed me the tricks to make the best apple pie in the world. Anytime I receive a compliment on my baking I mention that I get it all from my Mom.
I loved going to my Mom's house for holidays. It would be decorated so perfectly and tastefully. She worked hard to prepare delicious dinners for the family and I would eat myself sick every time. I am so grateful that God gave us one more Christmas visit at her house before he called her home!
Thank you Mom for being a fantastic mom and grandma! We love you and will miss you!
