Barbara was born on Aug. 2, 1938, on the northwest side of Chicago.
After graduation, she started working for American Airlines. It was there she met the love of her life Larry Schoene. They married, had three children and in 1973 moved to Sodus. It was there that Barbara took up many hobbies. From dog showings and dog training to numerous arts and crafts. Pottery and stained glass were her favorite!
If Barbara could see it, she could make it! Besides her arts and crafts, she was actively involved in 4-H. Berrien County Kennel, Echo, St. Joe Valley and 3rd Leg. The love of her life were her poodles: Zak and Wysper, whom she continued to get titles and ribbons for. Barbara was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1570 and the E.P.O.E. 541.
The greatest pleasure of Barbara's life was her grandchild, Brandon Brown. Their last trip together was turkey hunting in Florida, which Barb actually participated in, it was a story to live on!
Barbara was active with different Senior Clubs in which she loved to play pinochle. She loved living at the Villa's and wishes all the best to all of her friends and neighbors.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Schoene.
Survived by her son, Dr. Edward Schoene (Dr. Sue Black Schoene); son, Daniel Schoene; daughter, Bonnie Schoene Brown (Bryan Brown); grandson, Brandon Brown, Ashley Cornell (Guy Cornell) and Justin Brown (Heather Brown); she is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Donations can be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and Berrien County 4-H Dog Department. Memorial Service will be at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, Mich.

Even though Barbara wasn't here in Florida at Christmas time she loved all the holidays. She was the last of the Grove family. I am missing her a lot.

I miss Barbara so much. I think of her often. Here is one of her many photos she sent me with the poodles. She brought joy to many people and she loved life and enjoyed herself so much.

I will miss Barbara so much. She was tough but she loved her friends and family. She especially loved her poodles and was so proud of them.

We´ll miss the "dog lady".
Worked with Barb & Larry with taxes and investments (HD Vest). Enjoyed working with her and the kennel club.
Say hello to Larry for us!
