Obituary of Barbara A. Senffner

Barbara A. Senffner, 86, of Joliet passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on March 27, 1939, in Morris, IL, the daughter of the late Gordon and Mary (Stankewich) McIntosh.

Barbara was the owner and operator of multiple Beauty Salons in the Will county area for several years. She enjoyed bowling, and loved a good game of euchre. She also liked trips to the casino. Barbara was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and loved cheering them on. At home she found peace in her yard, watching all the birds, a simple joy that always brought her comfort.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Walter (Karen) Peterson, Lori Peterson, and Dori (Tom) Tibble; cherished grandmother of Katrina (Waqas) Abassi, Walter and Nicholas Peterson, Jennifer (Adam Shelby) Benco, Joshua Rabenau, Joseph Susner, and Savannah Mejia; great-grandmother of Chris, Nevaeh, Serenity, Adrian, Adam, Jr., and Skai; and great-great-grandmother of Jaida and Jordan.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, David "Butch"; son-in-law, Gary Susner, and her beloved dog, Brandi.

Visitation for Barbara A. Senffner will be Friday, December 19, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 4:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd) in Joliet. Per her request, cremation rites will follow services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lightways Hospice.

Though nobody knows what to say when someone we love passes away. And nothing can be said to make the pain go away. I'm giving you hugs and sending my love. REMEMBER, HEAVEN'S GOT THE BEST
