Barbara Gloria Spears, known to all as Barb, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 Saturday January 17th 2026. Born on June 12, 1946, in Rhinelander, Barb's journey was one filled with love, dedication, and a remarkable spirit of care. She married Eugene Spears on August 31, 1965, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories.
A graduate of LUHS and cosmetology school in Green Bay, Barb dedicated 45 years of her life to the art of cosmetology, owning her own successful business for 30 of those years. Her passion extended beyond her career; Barb was the heart of her home, always ensuring it was immaculate and that no one ever went hungry. Her nurturing nature touched everyone she met.
In retirement, Barb embraced her love for travel, with Arizona becoming a favorite destination. She treasured her time spent with her children, Jason and Steve Spears, and her adored grandchildren, Julia, Jacob, Ethan, and Ella. Barb was preceded in death by her mother Viola, father Steven, son Steven, and husband Eugene.
Her timeless contribution of kindness, hard work, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
“God looked around his Garden and found an empty space. As He looked down upon this earthHe saw your tired face.He put his arms around youAnd lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful He only takes the best.”
