Barbara Teeple Obituary
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor, Kansas, on Thursday, October 9th at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Barbara was born on June 28th, 1930, in Harlan, Iowa. After graduating from St. Aloysius Academy in Kansas City, Missouri, she attended St. Mary's College in Leavenworth before completing her nursing training at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, where she earned her Registered Nurse licensure in 1951. She dedicated her life to caring for others, serving first at Providence Hospital until 1977 and then at Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth until her retirement in 1998. In all, Barbara's nursing career spanned an extraordinary 47 years.
Her faith was the steady foundation of her life. Barbara's hope in Jesus was palpable, shaping her character, her compassion, and her care for others. If you knew Barbara, you were blessed by her, because she prayed for you-faithfully and daily. She never missed an opportunity to encourage others with her signature phrase on cards and notes: "Love and prayers, Barbara." Prayer was central to her life, and it overflowed to bless all those who knew and loved her.
Beyond her faith and work, Barbara was full of life and adventure. She loved fly fishing and traveling, proudly visiting 49 states (Hawaii being the only one she missed). She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball fan. Known for her quick wit and playful one-liners, Barbara was always joyful, always laughing, and a delight to be around.
Barbara was also a loyal and cherished friend. She remained close with many of her high school and nursing school classmates, meeting for lunches well into their 90s and keeping in touch with frequent phone calls. These enduring friendships were a testament to her faithfulness, warmth, and love for people.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Steve and John Teeple, and her sister, Carolyn Kelly. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Moseley; her son, Dr. Mike Teeple (Angie); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor, Kansas.

Barbara and I worked at Cushing. Both graduated RN from Providence Hospital. St Mary's College. I learned alot from her. She will be missed. I will have a Mass said for her at Holy TRINITY Church in Weston. May God bless her and keep her near Him.
