Barbara Thompson Obituary
Barbara Thompson, 76, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Eventide on 8th in Moorhead. Barbara was born February 15, 1948, in Zimbabwe, Africa, to Felix and Bronslava “Bernice” (Reuben) Niedzwiecki. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Chicago, Il, where she grew up and attended school. She also met her future husband, Russell Thompson while living in Chicago. In 1980, they moved to Minneapolis for a time before moving to Bagley, MN. Together they made their home in Bagley until settling in Moorhead in the early ‘90’s.
Over the years, Barbara enjoyed working at Hornbacher’s. In her spare time, she loved going out for Bingo, crocheting, puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was grateful to be cared for by her granddaughter, Angel, in recent years. Barbara will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruthie (Darcy) Thompson, Marcie (Jason) Prince, Anna (Cory) Thompson; son, Robert (Robin) Thompson; 24 grandchildren; sister, Mary (Robert) Jellen; brother, Mitchell Niedzwiecki, and niece Gina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Sr.; her son, Russell Jr.; grandson, Russell III; and two brothers.
