Our sincere condolences to Bob, Bobby, Lisa and her family...Barbara was kind, funny, smart.. her guilty giggle was adorable when we neighborhood ladies got together for lunch or dinner, usually at Luigi's. I know she is with Jesus and all the saints.. she was a saint.. honestly, a beautiful smiling loving saint.. we will never forget her. Love you Barbara

Cousin Barbara,
You lit up the room with your smile. And now, you light up all of Heaven. What a gracious and generous person you were to all your friends and family!
May your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Love, Cousin John

Barbara was an amazing mentor to me during my years teaching at Brookdale and beyond. I am so fortunate to have met her and worked with her. She inspired me to continue my doctoral degree. I will miss hearing from her each year and wish her family peace in this difficult time. Rest in peace Dr. Barbara Tozzi.

As first cousins, Barbara and I grew up together and loved each other like sisters. She was older (by 11 months) and smarter (by a lot). She found humor in everything, even the challenges of cancer. We talked and giggled our way through childhood, marriage (I was her maid of honor, she was mine), parenting, loss, grand parenting, and aging. Her family was her treasure and a source of continual and boundless joy.
In the fall of 2018, Barbara accepted the cruel reality of her PEComa diagnosis with grace and courage. She felt blessed to have had a full life, a wonderful family, and a rewarding career. She never gave up, but refused to be resentful, instead worrying about younger folks, especially children, who face cancer. I was continually in awe of her courage, her positive attitude, and the obvious peace of mind that her deep faith provided.
I pray that memories of Barbara's inner radiance and joy will stay with us and carry us through the heartache and pain of losing her far too soon. I'll be forever grateful for the blessing she was in our lives, and will miss her each and every day.

Barbara was a good friend at Brookdale. I had been an adjunct for many years off campus and when I began teaching on main campus, Barb was always helpful. She subbed for me when I was ill, and wrote a letter of reference on my behalf when I sought full time work. I will miss you, Barb!
