Barbara Ann Turner, 63, of Akron, passed away on August 12, 2025. She was born on October 31, 1961 the daughter of the late Felton Shropshire Jr. and Aretha Jackson of Milledgeville, Georgia. She was a woman of faith and was a member of Shelton Temple Prayer, COGIC where she served as an usher. Barbara enjoyed listening to gospel music and singing. In her quiet time she could be found reading and drawing. She had many accomplishments but her greatest was her love for her family. And she always loved having family dinners and all of her family looked forward to her delicious meals. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Felton Shropshire Jr., and James Jackson; mother ArethaJackson; son Edward Turner; brother Charles Grant; son-in-law Darian White; and God's angels Derrick and Keith Steele.
Barbara is survived by her loving family, children Michael Turner, Lameca White, and Loletha Turner; grandchildren Destiny, Ka'Joy, Bella, Michael Jr., Mekhi, Daniel, Ariyonna, DaMichael, De-Anthony, Erica, Gina, and Gino; great-grandchildren Luna, Ziare, Zoey, and Zakari; siblings Felton Shropshire III, Mildred Shropshire, Willie Shropshire, and Margaret Jackson; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm., Monday, August 25th., at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Pastor Tony Huggins officiating.
Interment will be held at Glendale Cemetery.
