Barbara Waters Obituary
She confessed Christ and was baptized June 26, 1965, by James Huggins preacher of Church of Christ in Auburndale, FL. She was a devoted wife to Arthur Pete Waters. They married on August 8, 1953 at the county courthouse in Bartow by Judge C.M. Wiggins while Pete was on leave from the Army. They were married 67 years before Pete passed away. Barbara Jean promised God that she would never smoke, drink, or run around on her husband. She kept that promise all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Slaughter and Iola Slaughter Watts; her brother, Tony Slaughter; and her son, Arthur Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Pauline; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Waters (Alana), Brian Patterson, Amanda Patterson, Jonathan Waters (Cheanna), Brandon Patterson (MaryKate); and 8 great grandchildren, Bristol Patterson, Gage Patterson, Jaxon Waters, Blakely Patterson, Branson Patterson, Caden Waters, Emma Waters, Elliot Waters.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29 at 10:00 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven with a funeral service immediately following.
