Barbara Whitsitt Obituary
Barbara was born in Phoenix, Arizona of June 17, 1943, a daughter of Jackson G. and Kathryne (Autry) Bearden. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee Whitsitt on July 1, 1961. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2024.
Mrs. Whitsitt was a self-employed caregiver. She had worked for many years giving care to the elderly and her sisters, giving aid and comfort when needed in the ends of their lives. Barbara enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and caring for her family.
Mrs. Whitsitt is survived by her children, Sue (Scott) Mrdeza and Michael Whitsitt, all of Oakley; three grandsons, Chad Mrdeza of Haslett, Dillon (Sage) Mrdeza of Traverse City, and Russell Whitsitt Jr. of California; a brother, Jackson (Lola) Bearden of Arizona; brother-in-law, Roger Broin of Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Patsy Broin and Jean Rooks; her beloved husband for over 62 years, Robert; and a son, Russell Whitsitt.
Private services will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
