Barbara Willard

WILLARD, Barbara Ann Hill, age 82, beloved wife of the late Coley Leonard Willard Jr., died on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Richmond, Va., a daughter of the late George W. Hill and Gladys Coral Orange. She retired from the U.S. Air Force after 31 years of devoted service and was a member of the Beta Sigma PHI Sorority XI ETA SC Chapter. She enjoyed traveling and loved and was inspired by life. She was a very active and faithful member of Shaw Heights Baptist Church, where she was a puppeteer and was a Sunday School teacher for the "Young at Heart." Surviving are a son, Robert Ray Willard and his wife, Cathy Counts, of Columbia; two daughters, Denese Lamer of Sumter and Cindy Willard and Russell Jones of Lexington; a brother, Thomas Ashby Parkinson of Virginia; and special angels, Millie Eudy and Mae Tardiff. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Shaw Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Victor Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
