DAMSON--Barrie. The Board of Trustees and the entire Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) community extend our deepest sympathy on the passing of Barrie Damson, whose wisdom, leadership, and enduring commitment to the Hospital helped to support the organization's growth and development. Barrie served on the HSS board for more than 20 years, and it was a mark of his dedication to service that he rarely missed a meeting. He was deeply engaged with his work on the HSS board, including his thoughtful tenures on the Planning, Governance, Executive, Finance and Quality committees. Barrie and his beloved wife Joan were inaugural members of the HSS Knight Society, in recognition of their generous philanthropic support of the mission of HSS.
