Barry Lane Hill, 68, of Cynthiana, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 28, 1957, in Cynthiana, he was a son of Jane Carolyn Whitaker Hill of Cynthiana and the late J.R. Hill. A 1975 Harrison County High School graduate, Barry worked as a carpenter with Sosbe Construction and with Toyota in the Inspection Department and as an installer. He was a skilled carpenter, who willingly shared his talents with his children, extended family and friends. On June 27, 1975, he married Carla Perrin Hill, and his dear wife and best friend of 50 years survives his passing. Barry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish anywhere, anytime, and he made many memories with his family at Lake Cumberland when they were boating, waterskiing, and camping. He coached all four of his children in recreational baseball, and continued playing himself on recreational teams, hitting his first homerun at 40 years of age on a Toyota team. His love for family, friends, and life will always be remembered. In addition to his wife Carla Hill and mother Jane Hill, he is survived by four children: Codye Barrett Hill McCann (Robert) of Cynthiana, Lucas Hunter Hill (Kristen) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Levi Hyatt Hill (Michelle) of Berry and Carver Perrin Hill (Kourtney) of Cynthiana; 8 grandchildren: James Griffieth & Meagan Hill, Campbell & Barrett McCann, Hunter & Fletcher Hill, Kennedy Hill, and Knox Hill; one brother, Timothy Jay Hill (Crystal) of Berry; two sisters: Joy Lynn Hill of Lexington and Julie Gasser (Tony) of Cynthiana; his sister-in-law Bobbye Gresh of Sandwich, MA; and a host of extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Prince Tod Perrin. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to the Harrison County High School Archery Team: Checks payable to Harrison County Board of Education. On memo line please write: Archery Team/Barry Hill Memorial: 308 Webster Avenue, Cynthiana, KY 41031. Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, is entrusted with caring for the family.
