I was shocked to read Barry's name on the obituary page of the quarterly from the Pensions & Benefits. I had not heard, and I didn't know he was ailing at all. Barry and I pastored on the Monterey Bay Zone in the early part of this millennium, and enjoyed our monthly gatherings. He was a thoughtful friend, and kind pastor, and eager student of God's Word. Debi and I join all of you in prayer for his family, both at home and in his church.

Cecelia and I were so sorry to hear of your loss--my heart aches to think of you're going through. Barry was a wonderful pastor and an even better man. He was always kind and genuine, and it was obvious from the way that he interacted with Krystal and the girls that theirs was a home filled with love. May the knowledge that he's in the presence of his Lord and Savior bring you some solace even though your (our) earthly loss is great. Know that you are and will continue to be in our prayers. Take care, and God bless.

We send our sincerest condolences. Barry was our Pastor in Monterey, CA. He was energetic and lively and he made services enjoyable. I cannot believe that he is gone, because it way too soon! It is hard to understand but, I know God had His reason, and although I am sad, I t trust the Lord. If you don't know Christ or haven't accepted Him as you Savior (and I know Pastor would invite you to do this) please let Him into your heart. John 3:16

I remember there was a Sunday that Pastor Barry wore a sweater cardigan to church and I started joking around that he looked like Mr. Rogers. That was a huge compliment and I don't know if he realized it. Barry oozed kindness wherever he went. He genuinely cared about all people and was caring and respectful to all. He accepted people where they were.

We are so sorry to hear about Barry’s death. Preston and I will be praying for Krystal and their family. Our daughter and her family (Kelly and Joel Barrington) attended The church in Monterey when Barry pastored there. Pastor Barry and the church family knew how to love on military families. We will be forever grateful for their influence, support, and love.
