Barry Eugene Lewis, affectionately known as "Bear," passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 63.

Barry was born on March 24, 1961, at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, to James and Gail Lewis. He grew up in Columbus with his siblings, Teresa, Angela, Brian, Paul, and JR. Barry attended Westland High School in Galloway, Ohio, and later worked in construction and as a home health aide.

He was known for his ability to fix anything and his love of inventing new toys. Barry had a passion for music, dancing, and singing. He loved being the center of attention and had a knack for hoarding anything and everything, calling them his treasures. He had a unique ability to take something old, discarded, and broken and give it a new and useful purpose.

Barry is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Hart Lewis; children, Dawn, Bruce, and Ciera; grandchildren, Bryce and Madison; mother, Gail Temple; nieces and nephews; cousins, including Chris; and his special friend, Carol, who was always there for him.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, James; grandparents, Tom and Mickey; in-laws, Dallas, Vic, and Pat; and his beloved fur baby, Bossy.

A celebration of Barry's life will be held at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, located at 34 West 2nd Avenue, Columbus, OH 43201, on October 23, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Thank you all for joining us in honoring Barry's memory. He loved you all and hopes you enjoy the gift he left for you.

With love, Sherry
