Barry was born and raised in the picturesque town of Coldwater Michigan.
From the beginning, his interests had no end. He loved music (big band), singing (hymns) and dancing (tap). What is undeniable though, was his fervency for reading and absorbing vast knowledge. He is a proud graduate of Howe Military Academy (class of 1968) and then attended Tri-State College (Trine University) for business.
For pleasure he appreciated everything about vintage automobiles: bumper to bumper. The enjoyment of strolling through car shows was shared with a German freulein. He made her his frau in 1978 and she is his "Liebschen" forevermore. She held down the fort when he joined the Navy and set out on deployments. The recruiter was true to his word, and Barry got to see the world, taste the local cuisines from France, Italy to Israel, and so on. He looked forward to each homecoming (stationed in Florida) and happily reminisced over his adventures with family and friends.
He developed lifelong Christian fellowships as a member of First Baptist Church downtown. They all loved the study of God's Word and shared an appreciation for potluck. Barry's knack in the kitchen awarded him a prize in a chili cook off.
He felt immensely blessed with loving parents, Bob and Eda; coolest brothers, Richard (Doris) and Christopher, Greg (Theresa); beautiful sister, Laura (Jim).
He is deeply loved by his bride D.; two daughters, Angela (Marvin) and Michele (George); cherished grandkids Molly (Chris), Amanda, Bianca (Curtis), Lillian, Trent, James, Alison, Hilary and Aaron; also great grandbabies, Oliver, Emily, Jordan and Ezra.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who will be treasuring many memories with this sweet, sweet man.
