My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Barry. I worked with Barry at Arrowhead Ranch and created a friendship over helping kids, basketball and softball. I can still see Alexis and Ashley playing in the apartment in Bettendorf and how much he loved them. Sherry, you trusted me with Barry. He was a groomsman in my wedding and I will have nothing but love and fond memories of my buddy. My life is better and complete having Barry as a friend and brother. I´ll never forget the phone call I made to him in Belgium that cost me almost 100.00 dollars!!Stay strong and remember all the great memories!

My wife Louise and I woul like to extend our sincerest condolences to Barry's family and to his beloved wife, our beloved framily and childhood friend, Stephanie. Words can not express our deepest sentiments, nor can it heal the family's deepest pain, as a result your loved one's passing. We simply offer up our prayers, to The One Who is able to hear our faintest cry and only One Who is able to satisfy our deepest needs. May God comfort you, grant you peace and renew your hope, knowing that He is near the brokenhearted and that Barry is now at rest in His presence. Peace and blessings to you.

Fond memories: For many years Barry and I met at the halfway point; the McDonald's near Military Circle Shopping Mall. We unloaded his young daughters and my nieces; Ashley and Alexis from his car to mine to begin part 2 of their fun summer vacation in Virginia. Thank you Barry. Love always, Aunt Pearl.

Condolences to all of the family. Barry was an extraordinary man, and an exceptional athlete. A special memory I have of Barry is by way of his sister, Lisa, who upon learning of my addiction to WVU basketball, and knowing that Barry was playing with a former Mountaineer on the Youngstown Pride pro team, arranged for Barry to send me one of Dale Blaney's practice jerseys. Barry also signed one of his own basketball cards from his Youngstown days and included it with the jersey. I still have both the jersey and the card. RIP Barry. Your life made a huge difference to so many you passed by in this world. You will never be forgotten. A life well lived. A difference made.

My sympathy and condolences goes out to Betty and the rest of the Mitchell family near and far. As famous as Barry was he never lost his down home attitude or his down to earth spirit. May GOD continue to bless his son Ajay and the rest of the Mitchell family as we keep them in our prayers.
