Barry Owens Obituary

Barry was born on February 28, 1960, in Jackson, TN, to the late Dr. and Mrs. Mark Owens. Barry grew up playing baseball with his family and friends. He followed in his father's footsteps and attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN, where he later became Professor and Chairman of the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Barry served and taught at the dental school for more than 35 years, and he took great pleasure in getting to know his students and watching them grow in their skills to become proficient dentists.
Barry loved family and his bride of nine years, Alison Hailey Owens. Barry enjoyed sharing a country home with Alison in Covington, LA, where they had many happy times surrounded by five rescue dogs and lots of home improvement projects!
Barry is survived by his wife, Alison, step-daughter Gabrielle, two brothers Gaylon (Kristi) and John, and two nieces Katy and Molly.
All funeral services are private.
