Bart Puckett Obituary

Published by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Apr. 28, 2015.
Bart Puckett, 76, Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Clayco Care Center, Barnesville, MN. Bartley Joseph Puckett was born at home on May 3, 1938 at Fennimore, WI to George and Myrtle (Sutton) Puckett. He grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and attended school in Boscobel, WI. On April 20, 1958, he married Dorothy Reger in Cobb, WI. To this union 7 children were born. Bart was a jack of all trades and was able to master all jobs he set out to do. Because of this he was able to accomplish many things in his life and had the stories to go along with them. Bart worked as a cheese maker and logger in WI before they moved to Texas, where he tried his hand at boiler operation and master electrician. They lived there a short time and returned to the Midwest, settling in Perham, MN. They later moved to Fargo, ND. Later in life he had his own trucking company. He loved being on the road, especially since the love of his life, Dorothy, was able to accompany him, allowing them priceless hours spent together traveling the country. Even after retirement he remained active, teaching himself computer technology, and picking up several hobbies. He was especially gifted at painting nature scenes, applying the sights and scenery that he had said he was blessed to see in real life. His beautiful wife Dorothy passed away in 2011. He entered Clayco Care Center in March of 2015. He is survived by his children, Lenny (Barb) Puckett, New York Mills, MN; Cindy (Rolland) Platt, Pelican Rapids, MN; Mindy Puckett, Fargo, ND; Carrie (Rich) Schwanke, Fargo; Marrie (J Hinrichs) Puckett, Ham Lake, MN; Chris Puckett, Fargo, ND; 12 grandchildren, Keith, Missy, Chad, Amanda, Nathan, Jessica, Krista, Britta, Jared, BJ, Junior, Jenny; 18 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Chub (Cookie) Puckett, Seguin TX; Butch George Jr. (Dora) Puckett Baraboo WI; Kay (Omar) Ramsey Winnsboro TX; Terry (Faye) Reedsburg, WI; Dusty (Debbie) Jacksonville, TX; Richard (Robbie) Houston TX; Loretta (Ali Odet-Allah ) Puckett, Deer Park TX. Bart was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, Joe; and brother, Frank. Memorial Service: Monday, May 4, 2015 at 1:30 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow. Final Resting Place: Casselton Cemetery.
