Mr Bashar N. Khoury

Bashar N. Khoury, 72, of Charleston, departed this life peacefully, while surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 25, 2007, at his residence after a short illness with cancer. Bashar was born on April 15, 1935 in Homs, Syria. He was a retired accountant from the West Virginia Pulbic Service Commission. He continued to work as a public accountant and considered his clients as his friends. He was a generous man by nature and was always willing to help a person in need. He was never too busy to give of himself and offer his guidance to his family and friends. He was a man of few words, but spoke in volumes. His memory as a beloved husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a faithful friend will live on in the generations he leaves behind. He is respected and loved by many. He will truly be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Alice Zakaib Khoury, children, Richard S. Khoury, and his fianc�, Barbara Hudson, Laila A. Khoury, and Paul M. Khoury, and his wife, M.J. Khoury; sisters, Virginia Chahine and Madeleine Kabbash. He was also the beloved �Jiddy� (grandfather) to Richard, Robert, Brian , Sara, Alexander, Madeleine and Dylan Khoury and Chris Hudson. As well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home on Tenn. Ave. with Fr. Louie Scoulas and Fr. David Shaw co-officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday evening, Trisagion Prayers will be held at 8:30 PM.
