Fue la devota esposa de Ypolito Paula, con quien compartió más de 40 años de amor y compañía.
Nacida en Atabalero, República Dominicana, era la querida hija de Benardino y Josefa. Después de terminar la escuela secundaria y la universidad, Basilia dedicó su carrera a la educación, sirviendo como una querida profesora de educación física en Manuel Joaquín Cruz. Será recordada como una excelente maestra, admirada por sus estudiantes y colegas por igual.
Basilia era una orgullosa miembro del grupo Club Juan Pablo Duarte. Siempre será recordada como una devota esposa, madre y líder, siempre alegre, entusiasta y dotada en el atletismo.
Le sobreviven su esposo, Ypolito Paula Fernández; tres hijas, Massiel Paula De La Cruz, Marlenny Paula De La Cruz y Maribel Hidalgo; y sus queridas Nietos, Camila Mael, Zul Vargas Paula, Lenin Paula y Scarlenny Nalia Martínez Paula.
Familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir a la visita de Basilia el domingo 5 de octubre de 2025, a partir de las 3:00 p. m., seguido de los servicios funerarios a las 4:00 p. m. en Harris Funeral Home, 222 N. Front Street, Reading, Pensilvania.
El entierro tendrá lugar en su tierra natal en el Cementerio Municipal, República Dominicana, el miércoles 8 de octubre de 2025.
El legado de amor, alegría y dedicación de Basilia a la familia y la comunidad permanecerá en los corazones de todos los que la conocieron.
Basilia De La Cruz García De Paula, 70, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the devoted wife of Ypolito Paula, with whom she shared over 40 years of love and companionship.
Born in Atabalero, Dominican Republic, she was the cherished daughter of Benardino and Josefa. After completing high school and college, Basilia dedicated her career to education, serving as a beloved physical education teacher at Manuel Joaquín Cruz. She will be remembered as an excellent teacher, admired by her students and colleagues alike.
Basilia was a proud member of the Club Juan Pablo Duarte group. She will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and leader-always joyful, enthusiastic, and gifted in athletics.
She is survived by her husband, Ypolito Paula Fernández; three daughters, Massiel Paula De La Cruz, Marlenny Paula De La Cruz, and Maribel Hidalgo; and her cherished grandchildren, Camila Mael, Zul Vargas Paula, Lenin Paula, and Scarlenny Nalia Martínez Paula.
Family and friends are invited to attend Basilia's viewing on Sunday, October 5, 2025, beginning at 3:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 4:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home, 222 N. Front Street, Reading, Pennsylvania.
Interment will take place in her homeland at Cementerio Municipal, Dominican Republic, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
Basilia's legacy of love, joy, and dedication to family and community will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
