I´m very saddened that I didn´t get to say goodbye. I would often stop in Norman and visit with Bates, at work usually, and he always had a gleam in his eyes and an infectious smile that was as genuine as he was. He is an all around good guy and whenever I would leave his presence I would have a spring in my step. He was a positive spirit of this world that would make you feel the same way. Loved you like a brother Bates, I hoped you knew that.
