Sue was born on July 14, 1948 in Madison, Indiana to James Clyde and Elizabeth Laura (Baker) Shelton.
She was a retired Teachers Aide with the Gallatin County School Systems. Sue had a love of gardening, cooking, home decorating, crafting and especially her cat Frankie. She loved to travel, and she and Don have a long list of destinations visiting through cruises and award trips from IGA several years ago. Sue's favorite destination might have been Gatlinburg and the surrounding area, as she loved the shops and beautiful surroundings. Sue loved to share stories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so proud of how they were growing up. She had a positive spirit, never complaining about life's trials or health. Sue was happy and positive and loved to help people. In later years as MS took away her ability to walk, she could be seen cruising around in her golf cart refusing to let a disease take away her freedom. Many days she could still be seen working outside in her garden, so proud of her tomatoes and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Donnie Shelton, Robert Shelton and sister-in-law Lila Jo Shelton. Sue is survived by her husband Donald Lee Beach of Warsaw, KY, son, Jeff (Diane) Beach of Fort Thomas, KY, daughter, Kelly (J.C.) Lovitt of Independence, KY, step-daughter April (Ron Wilkerson) Beach, brother, Jimmy Shelton of Mt. Dora, FL, sisters, Sister Mary Lynette of Hebron, KY, Betty Mott of Sun City, FL, also grandchildren Sammy, Mallory, Natalie and Sydney, and great-grandchild Easton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Florence Nature Park Event Center, 7200 Nature Park Drive, Florence, KY 41042. Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 pm Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at nationalmssociety.org.
