Beatrice Frances Knowles

KNOWLES, Beatrice Frances (née Bilz) – Entered into rest at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, on Sunday June 4, 2023. Bea, in her 100th year, was the beloved wife of the late Dr. James Knowles (1998). Loving mother to Chris (Brenda), Cecelia (David), Ray (Ulla), Cathy (John), and Laura (Lawrence). Cherished Gramma to Theresa (Mike), Laura, Stephen (Roxanne), Corey (Jenn), John David (Kehlyn); Christopher; Francis (Alicia), Ryan (Nico), Siobhan; Adria and Jenn (Owen); and "GGB" to Emilie, Dominic, Charlotte, and Henrik. Predeceased by her brother Raymond Bilz (Ann). Remembered by her niece, Paula and nephew, Stephen.
Bea was very active in her community, especially at St. Mary's Church as a eucharistic minister, lector, as well as a life member of the Catholic Women's League. She was always volunteering, particularly with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and visiting people in need in their homes, Ross Memorial Hospital, and long term-care homes. Bea had a passion for travel, and enjoyed being an active member of the Lindsay Little Theatre and playing bridge with her friends.
Visitation will take place at Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Monday June 12, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Church, on Tuesday June 13 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lindsay, with a reception to follow at St. Mary's School. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Mary's or Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation. Donations and condolences may be made through Stoddart Funeral Home.
