Beatrice Mumaw, age 82 of Monroe, passed away July 7, 2025.
Born March 26, 1943 in Steubenville, Ohio, Beatrice was the daughter of William and Macellia (Fallon) Hetherington. A graduate of Steubenville High School Class of 1961, she married the love of her life, James Mumaw, on March 23, 1968. Sadly, he preceded her in death June 5, 2006. As a dedicated homemaker and devoted friend and neighbor, Beatrice’s greatest joy in life was spending time with family.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Nadine (Joe) Meeker, a granddaughter Eryn Meeker and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother William Hetherington.
A celebration of Beatrice’s life has been planned under the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Allore Chapel in Monroe. Friends may call Friday from 3pm until 7pm. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where her husband also rests.
Memorial contributions in honor of Beatrice may be made to Friends of Companion Animals Cat Rescue and Adoption Center in Monroe, MI.
