Beatrice M. Rodriguez

Beatrice (Martinez) Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas quietly, and peacefully passed away in her sleep on May 13, 2024 with grace and dignity. She joins her loving spouse, Raul S. Rodriguez in heaven. She is welcomed by her mother Guadalupe Ramirez, her siblings Bettie Rivas, Genevieve Lopez, Dan Matta, Raymond Martinez, Benny Martinez and Bob Martinez. Beatrice, was a devoted mother to her five children, Edward Rodriguez deceased), Lawrence Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez (wife-Grace), Anita Loweree (husband Ruben), and Joseph Rodriguez, (wife-Elaine – deceased), with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild who also mourn her loss. Beatrice, was born in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1928 and the family moved to El Paso, Texas. She attended and graduated from Bowie High School and became a Proud Bowie Bear for the rest of her life. She met and married Raul S. Rodriguez in Las Cruces, New Mexico on September 2, 1951. She became a devoted and supportive Army wife accompanying Raul on all his dedicated Army assignments that included two tours to Germany, Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Ft. Hood and Ft. Bliss, Texas. At the same time, she took up the hobby of sewing and would spend many hours sewing clothes for herself and the entire family. She even found time to take a part time job working at a local Woolco store working in the Fabrics Department. The family is especially grateful to the professional staff at Mountain View Retirement Center who cared for her with dignity, respect, compassion and love. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, starting at 5:00pm - 8:00pm and rosary at 6:00pm. Thursday, May 23rd, Funeral Mass will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana at 9:00am with burial at 10:00am at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
