BB, as she was known by, graduated from Mercedes High School in 1959 and married Noe Cavazos in 1961. She graduated from Pan American University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bilingual Education in 1981. Beatriz was a life-long educator beginning her career in La Villa ISD and eventually retiring from Donna ISD. Teaching was her passion and she found great purpose in helping student's prepare for their futures. She loved going to the beach, traveling, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts and listening to music. She also enjoyed being an active member of the St. Pius X Catholic Daughters. But, her greatest joy was spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Beatriz lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker, grandmother, sister and aunt. By example she instilled strong values in her children. As in Luke 8:1, she reminded her children that they should always pray and "if you stumble or fall, get up and do not give up." She had a big heart and lit up a room with her kind spirit and friendly presence. BB was a devout Catholic who believed in the power of prayer. She will be greatly missed by all!
