Belia Cavazos Obituary
Belia Sanchez Cavazos, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1940, to her loving parents, Juventino and Lilia Sanchez. Belia dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a nurse for Dr. Gonzales in Benavides, Texas. Alongside her beloved husband, she also owned and operated Cavazos Feed and Seed, a cherished family business in their community.
She had a passion for baking, especially her famous lemon bundt cake, which she lovingly prepared for her family and friends. Her warm, generous spirit and loving heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Belia was an incredible and lovable person whose presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Belia was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrio P. Cavazos; her grandson, Joseph D. Gutierrez; her granddaughter, Leanna B. Gutierrez; sister, Yolanda Baez.
She is survived by her two sons, Humberto (Sandra) Cavazos Sr. of Ben Bolt, Texas; Demetrio Omar (Nancy) Cavazos of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Cynthia († Lauro Jose) Gutierrez of San Diego, Texas; her four brothers, Ruben (Karol) Sancez of Corpus Christi, Texas; Onofre (Juanita) Sanchez of Robstown, Texas; Juventino (Carolina) Sanchez Jr. of Pearland, Texas; Rene Sanchez of Realitos, Texas; her sister, Diana S. († Ricardo) Carrillo of Kingsville, Texas; brother-in-law, German Baez; seven grandchildren, Lauro A. Gutierrez, Lauren A. (Sergio) Morales, Adrian A. Cavazos, Humberto Cavazos Jr. (Lina Vela), Jose Alejandro (Katherine) Cavazos, John David (Ashley) Cavazos, Mackenzie E.H. (Nathan) Brown; nine great grandchildren, Gabriel Nicolo Cavazos, Guinevere Mercedes Cavazos, Alizay Joyce Cavazos, Jace Ryan Cavazos, Jewel Eliana Cavazos, Jean Lee Ryker Brown, Christopher Demetri Anthony Brown, Solara Anise Morales, Arabella Rose Morales; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary and Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas.
