Belvia Sizemore, age 82, of Hyden, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the Hyden Health and Rehab in Hyden, KY. Born on September 25, 1943, in Hyden, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bige and Kay Bowling Holland.
Belvia was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Oscar Sizemore, and her sister, Dailey McKinney. She was a cherished mother to her son, Gregory Sizemore of Manchester, and a loving grandmother to Amber Boroviak and her husband Shawn, and Alexis McWhorter and her husband Chase. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Hadley Boroviak, Lily Boroviak, Cooper Boroviak, Tucker Boroviak, Camden McWhorter, and Tatum McWhorter.
She also leaves behind her caring brother, Homer Holland of London, and her dear sister, Diane Bush and husband Wayne of Elk. Belvia was a special aunt to her nephew, Jeff Young and his wife Connie, and her niece, Rachel Bowling and her husband Cody.
Belvia dedicated 37 years of her life as a secretary for the Kentucky Highway Department, where she developed lasting friendships with her coworkers, many of whom became her closest friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Britton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, also at Britton Funeral Home, with Logan Wayne Bowling officiating. Belvia will be laid to rest at Sizemore Cemetery in Sizerock, KY.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
