Ben Cross

I really don't want to come off as absurd, but 4 1/2 years later, I think of you all the time... words cannot express how I feel... I wish I could describe it. You lived a life that I can only dream of. My life feels substandard and I'm nothing compared to you. Your talents were beyond what I know and yet you impacted me at an early age (1981) and continue to do so even to this day now that I'm in my 50s. You impacted the world in ways I cannot even fathom... an author, a writer, an actor, a director, an entertainer, a musician, a vocalist, a Free Mason Grand Steward... speaking 4 or 5 languages...you did it all! You were what's best in men from what I know and feel. I so wish I could have met you, could have spent an evening listening to you in person, interacting with you, expressing how much I look up to you. You were a complete human being to me even with your flaws which were seemingly few and far between. You left the living too early and your passing impacts me to this day. Even though I'm nothing compared to you, you influence me. When I sing, I think of you. When I run on the beach, I think of you (I started doing that in my teens inspired by... well, you know). When I think about learning to play an instrument, I think of you. When I think of learning another language, I think of you. You never knew me, but I loved you for who you were and what you are in my life today. I pray that in the life after I will finally give you a hug, kiss you on your cheek and tell you how I feel... but you may already know. :-)

A total brilliant and gifted actor on both stage and screen! RIP, Ben; thank goodness for your several wonderful films; posterity will have the opportunity in seeing and studying for future film buffs of this superb actors legacy!

Very saddened to learn of Mr. Cross's passing. In addition to his film and television work I was very pleased to have been in London to see him live with Charlton Heston in "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial" at the Queen's Theatre in the mid 1980s. I obtained a poster which I had framed and it hangs proudly in my entertainment room. I extend my sincere condolences to Mr. Cross's family and friends and many fans around the world.
