Ben Holt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Savage-Demarco Funeral Service - Endicott on Apr. 11, 2025.
Ben E Holt, 70, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2025. Ben was born in Binghamton, NY on September 16, 1954, to Joseph Bartlett and Mary Asenith Holt. He was a graduate of Chenango Forks and held many various jobs throughout his life, most notably as a cook and in the HVAC industry. Later in life he drove school bus and worked at the Kwik Fill gas station in Vestal, NY.
Ben was predeceased by; his parents; his brother, Joseph Holt; and his sister, Kathryn LaFont. He leaves behind his sons, Ian Joseph and Shawn Cameron Holt, who were his pride and joy; his sisters, Mary Ticknor, Debbie (Dave) Pettis, Peggy (Ron) Danen, Laure Fehr, and Beth-Anne (Jim) Pursley, as well as several nieces and nephews. Although no longer living together, Ben and his wife, Annamarie (Sexton) Holt, remained lifelong friends and companions.
Ben was a devoted father who never missed a football, basketball or baseball game over the course of the years. He cherished every camping trip and every game, especially the latest 3-year run of weekly D&D adventures with his sons. Ben loved being outdoors watching the wildlife that passed through the woods while he tended his fire. He was a creative being who loved to draw, carve wood, make music, bring stories to life and invent tools and gadgets, often repurposing any and all materials at hand. Ben was a devout Christian who prided himself on his knowledge of scripture and was quick to share a Bible verse. We have faith that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior.
Ben appreciated all of his friendships over the years and will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Old Union Hall, corner of Grace and Clinton Streets, Binghamton, NY, from 11 AM - 2PM. Full obituary also available at www.TiersNews.com. Express condolences at www.SavageFS.com. Arrangements entrusted to SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service.
