You were my favorite paperboy and neighbor as a child. I also loved your model train collection.

I am sorry to hear this news. He was a kind and caring doctor, who "went to bat for me" with my medical insurance company, who didn't want to cover varicose vein surgery. I watched him advocate on the phone for me -and I stood at a distance and admired him. To the insurance company - "She is going to have this surgery and you are going to pay for it". He fulfilled his mission and was an excellent role model for others to follow. May you find peace in wonderful memories with family and friends.

Dear Nancy and family, I was just informed of Ben's passing. I worked with him at Elmira Surgical for many many years. He was kind, compassionate, and all of his patients loved him. I loved working for him and treasure my time spent at Elmira Surgical. I will cherish all of the those memories. Rest in peace Ben no one can ever

My deepest sympathy to you and your family, Nancy. My memories of Ben go back to our childhood, when he would tease MaryAlice and I constantly, playing little tricks on us and then giving out with those famous little giggles.

In 1987, within 24 hours of becoming a father, I was told that my precious baby daughter needed surgery. Nothing was more important in my life, and my immediate reaction to the doctor was "Get Ben Willwerth". Today that little baby is a Mom herself. Ben was there for my family, and so many others, when we needed the best. RIP Ben, and thanks again.

So sorry to hear of Ben's passing, I remember him from the Schuyler Co area and I knew his dad a boy, and his dad was my mothers doctor for many, many years.

Elmira was blessed to have a surgeon with the talent that Dr. Willwerth had. He was always a pleasure to work with in the OR. He will be greatly missed.

I remember playing small fry baseball against Ben..He and my Dad were great friends.

Dr Willwerth was such a kind and gentle person. Great surgeon.

As kids from a small town growing up we knew everyone....Ben was a childhood friend, was in my sisters class, always had a smile on his face and liked to have fun. There are many memories of Ben, Mary Alice and his parents...most of all they were caring, kind, soft spoken, generous with their time spent in the community, and all around good people. I feel blessed to have shared a small part of my life with Ben. I am sorry for your loss, keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

DR Willworth was an extremely gifted surgeon with a gentle bedside manner all appreciated. As a nurse at Arnot , I considered it an honor to have worked with him. May the family continue to be blessed by all your special memories.
