Ben Ray Yoder

Ben Ray Yoder, age 78 years, 11 months, 24 days of North Vernon, Indiana. Passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at the Perry Bontrager residence due to skin cancer. He was born October 6, 1946, in Three Rivers, Michigan to Phineas B. and Wilma Belle (Yoder) Yoder. On November 28, 1974, he married Alice (Gingerich) in Centerville, Michigan (now separated). He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Surviving is Alice, and his children, Carol June Yoder, of Florida, Lloyd Wayne (Lena) Yoder of Goshen, Indiana, Ida Carolyn Yoder, Laureen Sue Yoder, Ben Ray Yoder, Jr., Jason Allen Yoder, Annabelle Marie Yoder all of Florida and Matthew Yoder of Michigan; 24 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Frederick Joseph Yoder of Saint Albans, Vermont, Frieda Lou Fries of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Sarah Mae Yoder of North Vernon, brother-in-law, Melvin Ray Kauffman of North Vernon, Phyllis Irene (John) Bontrager, Barbara Ellen (Ora Jay) Hochstetler of Centerville, Michigan, and Jonas Lamer (Margaret deceased) Yoder of Millersburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph Lamar Yoder; his sisters, Ruby Arlene Yoder and Martha Louise Kauffman and 5 infant siblings. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday October 4, 2025, at the residence of Perry Bontrager. Officiating will be Levi Beiler and the home ministry. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, and all-day Friday, October 3, 2025. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
