This is Carmelita e.
from Arizona. I met Benita at LAFB where she worked as a hairdresser. When I walked in I asked for a hairdresser who worked with Native American hair. Benita came forward with her big smiles n friendliness. We became friends and continued or communicating after she/family left for NC. I came to visit her at her little shop in Fayetteville NC. She was an excellent hairdresser as well as a true friend. We texted each other regularly and I last heard from her in May 2024. She texted me she had heart surgery and was doing better. I had planned to visit her this summer because Covid was over. M a nurse so we couldn't travel n had to work. I will miss Benita so much as my hairdresser n friend. She was the only one who knew how to give me my "perfect" perms. My youngest son is a Marine n stationed on the East Coast at the time so I came to see her to do my hair. Loved her as my friend n hairdresser always with her big smiles, friendliness her strong belief in God made her very special. I met her mother n sister once when they came to visit her at the shop. I was very sad to see her leave Arizona but I came to visit her at Fayetteville beauty shop on 2018. I will cherish these beautiful memories of Benita, my friend n sister in God.
