Dr. Benjamin Andrew Bishop, 42, of Denton, passed away at Medical City Denton on January 30, 2026. He was born on October 17, 1983, in Houston, Texas.
Ben’s life was marked by his quick wit, his deep devotion to his family, and a genuine love for caring for others. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people—often through humor—and an almost legendary knowledge of “a little bit of everything,” which he was always happy to share.
Benjamin began his calling in healthcare by earning his associate’s degree in respiratory therapy from Pearl River Community College. Driven by a desire to help people feel better and live better, he later pursued chiropractic care, graduating from Parker University in August 2021 with his Doctor of Chiropractic Care. Ben was deeply passionate about chiropractic medicine and the relationships he built with his patients. He truly loved caring for them. Listening to their stories, celebrating their progress, and doing everything he could to help ease their pain. To Ben, patients were never just appointments; they were people he genuinely cared about, and many became friends.
Outside of his work, Ben found joy in the things that made life simple and full. He loved camping and fishing, had a deep appreciation for firearms, spending time outdoors, cooking for the people he loved, and proudly maintaining his beloved truck. He had an endless supply of dad jokes, silly nicknames, and playful comments that could make anyone laugh—even when they didn’t want to. Those closest to him will always remember the way he could lighten any moment and make people feel at home just by being himself.
Above all else, Ben cherished his wife and children. As he often said, “they are my world.” His love for his family was steady, fierce, and unmistakable, and it defined everything he did.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Samantha Bishop; his three beloved children, Evan, Elijah, and Esias; his parents, Charles and Marie Bishop; his maternal grandmother, Dee Bishop, and many other beloved family members, friends, patients, and colleagues who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alice and Cassel Buckley, and paternal grandfather, James Bishop.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Gracepointe Church, McKinney Street, Denton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his children’s college fund. Contributions may be made by check or QR code upon request.
